Water and Ice Available to JCP&L Customers

MORRISTOWN, N.J., May 16, 2018 — Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) continues to restore service to customers who lost power due to the intense thunderstorms and high winds that blew through the region late yesterday.  JCP&L expects the vast majority of the remaining 35,000 customers to be restored to service by late Thursday.

The hardest hit counties include, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren in northern New Jersey.  JCP&L is offering free water and ice to customers remaining out of service.  Customers can pick up water and ice at the following locations:

Road Closure

***ROAD CLOSURE DUE TO MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH***

Due to a pickup truck crashing into a utility pole on Parsippany Boulevard, which caused the utility pole to break in multiple areas, Parsippany Boulevard is closed to ALL through traffic between the intersection of Route 46 East and Littleton Road. Residents who live in Brookside Senior Center and Tivoli Gardens can only access their homes by entering from the Littleton Road side. The closure is expected to be in place through the morning as JCP&L works to stabilize the pole so the truck can be removed and repairs can be completed.

*Note: The driver of the vehicle was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Eyewear by Evie, 715 Main Street | Old Enough to Know Better, a three piece band that plays Rock and Roll ranging from the 50s through the 90s and Blues.

– Boonton Holmes Public Library, 621 Main Street | Driving Vinyl, a classic rock band playing the 60s through 80s.

– Location to be determined | Failure To Launch, an acoustic cover band playing Dave Matthews, Skynryd, Matchbox 20, and many more.

“Good evening, this is Mr. Cleffi, Principal of Morris Knolls High School.

On Tuesday, March 24th, an attempt was made in Boonton, to abduct a 10 year old girl and pull her into a car.  The incident occurred at approximately 4:45pm.  The driver of the car stopped his black, 4 door sedan, possibly a Lincoln Town car. The driver was described as a white male, in his 20s, about 5 foot 9, he was wearing black cargo pants, black boots,  a black T Shirt with an image of a skull on it.  He also was also wearing a black mask.

Students and parents should be alert and notify police immediately of any similar incident or of a sighting of a car or an individual matching this description.
