In the early 1970’s a new type of game was created that both shocked and intrigued the American Public.  What was once seemingly reserved for nerdy types of young people, Dungeons & Dragons has inspired a multitude of other role-playing games, as is today played popularly, even by celebrities. This lecture will piece together the creation of the “role playing game” and consider the viewpoints of both its advocates and its opponents.  Program presented by Alexander Clemente.
