COST TO PLUNGE/INCENTIVES:

$30 – Cost to Plunge (free T-shirt included!) ($35 after 2/1/20)

If you fundraise an additional $50 you will receive a $10 gift card to a Denville town retailer!

Day of Event Registration – $40

Plungers –

(If you choose not to fundraise, just register, pay your $30 and you’re done!)

Chicken???…For those afraid of cold water, you can donate to a Plunger by clicking the “DONATE” button above and select the person or team you wish to support!

DAY OF PLUNGE SCHEDULE:

11:30am – Registration opens

12:45pm – Registration closes 12:50pm – Plungers safety meeting by the beach

12:55pm – Plungers walk onto the beach for set-up and group photo

1:00pm – WE PLUNGE!!!

RULES & REGULATIONS:

-Minimum age to plunge is 10 years old.

-You will required to fill out a waiver at The Plunge. Anyone under 18 must have parent/guardian to sign the waiver and accompany them while at The Plunge.

-All Plungers must be registered in order to Plunge, even if you’re on a team!

PLUNGE SAFETY/AMENITIES:

-Trained Divers and EMT staff to insure you safety before, during, and after The Plunge

-Access to Women’s and Men’s Heated Changing Tents after The Plunge

-Porta-Pottys will be available on-site

WHAT TO BRING:

-Warm clothes/shoes to change into after The Plunge

-Plastic garbage bag to put your wet clothes in

-A warm towel!

WHAT TO WEAR TO PLUNGE:

-Bathing Suit, must be appropriate. (Bikinis -yes, thongs – no.)

-Costumes are allowed. Yes, they can be ridiculous, but they must be family appropriate. Any clothing deemed inappropriate by the Plunge Staff must be removed or you will not be allowed to participate.

-Old Sneakers or Water Shoes – you MUST wear these for The Plunge to avoid slipping and falling. No flip flops.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY TIPS:

-Leave valuables at home, including jewelry and rings which could fall off in the cold water.

-There is no diving or flipping into the water. Our Divers will enforce this to insure Plunger safety!

-Sneakers or water shoes must be worn for the Plunge. No exceptions! No shoes, no plunge!

-NO ALCOHOL – Please do not bring alcohol or show up to The Plunge under the influence of alcohol. Violators will not be permitted to plunge.

-Try not to run out of the water after The Plunge. The sand and parking lot will be wet and slippery on the way to the changing tents.

-Have friends or family waiting for you immediately after the Plunge with a blanket or robe. Staff members will also be available to help.

OTHER:

-Complimentary Hot Chocolate/Coffee/Refreshments will be available for the Plungers afterwards.

-The Polar Plunge will take place rain or shine, or hopefully SNOW!

-On-Street Parking will be available in front of the Cooks Pond main gate on Entrance Way and surrounding streets. Please do not park inside the gates as this parking is for emergency vehicles only.

-Only in the event of an extreme weather condition such as an active blizzard or thunderstorm will the Plunge be moved to the next day, Sunday, February 23rd at 1pm. If the whole weekend is a wash-out, the event will be cancelled without refund.

** The Polar Plunge Staff reserves the right to terminate your participation in The Plunge without a refund if you do not comply with the above stated rules!
