Disney’s Brother Bear and Chuck Jones

November 1, 2003, Disney released Brother Bear.

Brother Bear was dedicated to Disney writer Chuck Jones, and the 7th film to have a dedication to a Disney employee that has passed away during the credits. The first is The Lion King being dedicated to Frank Wells, the second is Hercules being dedicated to Jeremy Irons, Mulan to John Denver, Tarzan to Ed Gilbert, Dinosaur to Rex Everhart, and Alantis: The Lost Empire to Jim Varney.

Brother Bear was set in a post-ice age North America, where the local tribesmen believe all creatures are created through the Spirits, who are said to appear in the form of an aurora. Three brothers, Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Phoenix), Denahi (voiced by Jason Raize) and Sitka (voiced by D.B. Sweeney), return to their tribe in order for Kenai to receive his sacred totem, its meaning being what he must achieve to call himself a man.

The soundtrack to Disney’s 2003 animated feature film Brother Bear. It contains the film’s music composed by Mark Mancina and Phil Collins, as well as songs written by Collins, and performed by Tina Turner, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Oren Waters, The Bulgarian Women’s Choir, and even Collins himself. Much of the soundtrack in the film consists of the songs performed by Collins as a montage, much like what was done with the earlier Disney soundtrack to film Tarzan, but not entirely. The album was released on October 21, 2003 by Walt Disney Records.

Morris County Ranks 29th of 3,000 Counties Analyzed for the Healthiest Communities Honor Roll

(From U.S. News and World Report)

Healthiest Communities: How They Were Ranked

Showcasing the health-related success of communities across the country, the Healthiest Communities Honor Roll encompasses four top-performing communities in each of the U.S. Census Bureau’s nine regional divisions, classifying them based on their urban-rural status as tied to population density and the robustness of their economies.Morris County Makes the U.S. News Top 35 Counties Ranking in the U.S.

The distinction is based on a community’s performance across the same 80 measures and 10 categories used in the overall U.S. News Healthiest Communities assessment of nearly 3,000 counties and county equivalents.

The 36 Honor Roll communities range from the rural and mountainous Routt County, Colorado, to the bustling Morris County, New Jersey, which lies about an hour away from Manhattan in New York. They include Island County, Washington, and San Mateo County, California, in the West, along with Washington County, Tennessee, in the South and Bennington County, Vermont, in the Northeast.

Their populations vary from roughly 2,000 people to nearly 1 million, according to data used in the U.S. News analysis, with a median household income gap of more than $80,000. Yet together, they boast an average life expectancy of 81 years and health insurance coverage of more than 90 percent.

Morris County Sheriff Releases Statements on the current Heightened Threat Picture

Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon

On October 28, 2018, Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon said:

“In light of the recent mail bombing attempts, and following the horrific acts of murder and terrorism in Pittsburgh, I have asked that we redouble our efforts at the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in support of the strong efforts of our local police chiefs who are doing the same.”

“We have been continually patrolling houses of worship and points of our critical infrastructure since the time I entered office, last week, and again yesterday,  I bolstered those efforts to reassure our neighbors in the Jewish Community. We have added visits by Sheriff’s Officers to our normal patrols of these locations. An attack on any one religion, culture or race, is an attack on us all.”
